Fundraise

Fundraise

Many of the children and young people who are adopted and fostered through St Andrew’s Children’s Society have experienced trauma from birth or an early age. Some have even been affected in utero.

We are committed to offering our families lifelong support to help them overcome this trauma.

But we simply couldn’t do what we do if it weren’t for the kindness and generosity of people like you.

Need some inspiration?

There are many ways you can fundraise on behalf of St Andrew’s Children’s Society. You could:

Take part in an organised fundraising event like

  • The Kiltwalk in Edinburgh, Aberdeen, Glasgow or Dundee
  • The Scottish Half Marathon or 10k in Edinburgh
  • The Great Scottish Run in Glasgow
  • Supernova Kelpies 5k in Falkirk
  • Baxters Festival of Running & Loch Ness Marathon in Inverness
  • Or any other event you like!

Or you could organise your own fundraising event or challenge:

You could

  • Have a sale
    • Bake sale
    • Craft sale
    • Toy sale
    • Book sale
    • Car boot sale
  • Organise a teddy bear picnic and invite other families to come along for a small donation. You could play some games and have a story time.
  • Set up a birthday fundraiser and use Facebook or JustGiving to ask for donations to St Andrew’s Children’s Society instead of gifts.
  • Organise your own sponsored walking, running, cycling, skipping or swimming event.
  • Ask people to sponsor you if you don’t use your mobile/laptop/ipad for a day, or longer if you can bear it!
  • Organise a coffee morning or special afternoon tea event and ask people to make a donation to come along.
  • Hold a talent show and ask people to pay to watch you.

How we can help you

  • We can help you come up with some fundraising ideas suited to you.
  • We can help you set up your Just Giving page, if you’re using one. It’s quick and easy to do.
  • We can suggest ways that you could run and promote your fundraising campaign.
  • We can promote your fundraising campaign for you, for example, by sharing what you are doing on social media.
  • We can let you know how you can pay the money you raise into our bank account.
  • If you’re taking part in an organised fundraising event like the Kiltwalk or the Supernova Kelpies 5k, we would be happy to refund you the cost of your entry as long as you raise the same or more from your sponsorship form.

Does your employer offer Matched Funding?

Did you know that lots of employers offer Matched Funding? Some organisations also call it Match Funding, Match Giving or Matched Giving.

Matched Funding is when an employer matches what an employee fundraises for a charity or donates to a charity.

It’s an easy way to double what you fundraise or donate.

Banks, building societies and insurance companies often offer Matched Funding. Other organisations do too. Why not ask your employer if they offer Matched Funding?
