St Andrew’s is a wonderful place to work and we have a range of roles including paid professional staff and a team of volunteers.
We regularly have our adopters coming in to share their experiences to Preparation Groups, SafeBase programmes and other support service delivery to new adopters.
We would now like to formalise that help by recognising that they are, in fact, volunteers.
There are many more ways in which our adopters and foster parents can help us to provide better services by sharing your past experiences, both good and bad with us.
This can be by supporting our staff at Preparation courses, SafeBase and Theraplay training for new adopters and other information and training events
Another way is to write about your experiences in the form of blogs for our newsletters, annual review and for our new web site to be launched in early 2017. Would you be happy to talk to camera to create a vlog for the web site? If you have a story to tell, please tell us.
As a volunteer, you may be able to help at our annual Christmas Party, join one of our staff manning one of our information desk at events being planned around Scotland throughout the year.
Helping to raise awareness of adoption, adoption issues and the services we have to offer.
You may have skills that we could put to very good use, please let us know.
If you would like a friendly chat with me, Maureen McAvoy, I can be contacted through the St Andrew’s Children’s Society Duty Desk 0131 454 3370, or you can speak to the Office Manager Claire McMahon on the same number.
Could you be a member of our Board of Trustees?
St Andrew’s Children’s Society Board of Trustees meets six times a year to review the organisation’s work and services, and to agree strategic goals for the charity. The Board also:
