SafeBase has been created to meet the demands from parents for help in dealing with challenging behaviours from their adoptive children.
Parents who have attended the SafeBase programme in the past have commented:
“I found the course very useful in reinforcing information about attachment. However, the most valuable part of the course was access to professionals’ advice which I have followed at home with great success.”
It has helped me to reflect upon the reasons behind behaviour and gain a better understanding of the impact I may have on those behaviours.”
The dates for this training are 15th, 16th, 22nd and 29th May 2019.
All refreshments and lunches are provided.
The cost per family is £1,000.00 and this is usually funded by the family’s placing authority.
Please call 0131 454 3370 and ask to speak to the Duty Worker or email firstname.lastname@example.org to find out more or make a booking.

St Andrew’s Children’s Society are running a Parent and Child Theraplay© Session for families with children aged 2-4 years.
Theraplay© uses engaging, interactive, playful and fun activities to promote attachment. These activities help to build positive parent-child relationships and to meet the needs of children who have experienced loss, disruption, difficult early experiences and gaps in their early development. This will also be an opportunity to meet with other adopters with children of a similar age.
The group is aimed at families who have had a child placed in the last year. Most of the activities are done in pairs so we would ask that one adult attend per child.
Tea, coffee and a snack will be provided at 11am when the session finishes.
We hope you can join us.
Please call 0131 454 3370 and ask to speak to our Duty Worker to reserve a space or email firstname.lastname@example.org.
